You will never have this day with your children again. Today is a gift. Breathe and notice. Study their little faces and feet. Relish the charms of the present. Enjoy today mama, it will be gone before you know it. - Jan Hatmaker Each year I create a birthday photo for Henry, then have it printed as a 16x20 wall canvas. It is so crazy how fast it all goes by. Of course Henry is my favorite subject to photograph, but if you are looking for a family photographer in the Savannah/Tybee/Hilton Head area please check out my recent work HERE. How fun to shoot a pirate themed first birthday session with this guy! The El Galeon Andalucia just happened to be docked on River Street for 10 days and was the perfect backdrop for Patrick in all his cuteness. Last year I had the pleasure of photographing Donald & Maria's elopement in Forsyth Park. It was definitely memorable because we had a Forrest Gump sighting and he sat down to pose for a few pics for us! You can view the photos HERE. Since the wedding, Maria & Donald added a little bundle to their family, and asked if I could photograph their son Addison while they were in Savannah for the weekend. Addison was just about the cutest one year old I have ever seen! He had a ball running around the park and discovering leaves and pine cones. It was so neat to photograph this little guy in the same spot where his parents tied the knot 🙂 *If you are looking for a family photographer in the Savannah/Tybee/Hilton Head area please check out my recent work HERE. Meet Maggie. Her parents were married 2 years ago in Marietta, Ga where I photographed their wedding. They were recently down vacationing on Tybee, so this was my first time meeting her-- and oh my stars is she ever a doll! I love it when my past wedding clients call me to photograph their precious new additions 🙂 If you are looking for a family photographer in the Savannah/Tybee/Hilton Head area please check out my recent work HERE. THIS GUY! Had to share this adorable little toddler from a recent portrait session at Tom Triplett Park.
It was such a beautiful day on Daufuskie Island for a family photo session! I had such a great time photographing the Kee family last week. The girls played on the beach for a bit searching for shells and dancing in the waves. I even got to snap them in their decorated golf cart as they participated in the July 4th Golf Cart Parade at the Bloody Point Golf Club & Resort. Such fun!
I had a fun and relaxed family session last week in Historic Savannah's Wright Square with the adorable Robinson family. Baby Amara couldn't be any more precious, don't you agree?! We took a few pics on Broughton Street on their front steps, then we strolled over to Washington Square to capture the rest. I just love photographing in the evening summer light!
My sweet friend Cynthia has been counting down the days until her husband's homecoming from a very long deployment. She decided to keep it a secret from her son Fabian and has been waiting patiently for the day when Mike would come home and surprise Fabian at his school. 395 days is a looooooong time for a boy to be without his father! But how precious to see them reunited 🙂 Welcome home SSG Ortiz! And thank you sir for your service. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas with your beautiful family.
Jim & Claudette were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Tybee Island with their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren recently and I had the pleasure of snapping some family photos for them. They wanted new ideas for family clothing options other than the always popular khaki/white combo. I'd like to share some of the ideas that I emailed them before the shoot because I think they might help other families who have questions on what to bring/wear to a family session on the beach. I just LOVE the colors they chose! They went well together for the group photo and also looked awesome on everyone in their individual family shots! Helpful Tips: There is a great little site for ideas on color palettes *HERE*. I think any of these combos as tops with white or light pants/shorts/capris (or skirts or dresses) look awesome. Even mix in some color on bottoms, too. Maybe each family in different color schemes for the group shot instead of everybody matching. I just think the khaki/white and jeans/white is overdone, and some pretty colors can work beautifully. For the families with little ones: change of clothes- dressy and casual or a princess outfit, costumes, etc. A blanket for hot sand and those who don’t like sand as well as for infants. Toys: shovel & bucket, dump truck, special toys, etc. Also bring a small toy for a family member or the photographer to shake for the small children so they will focus in the direction of the camera, like a favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. If you happen to have a kid size beach chair, bring it on! Beach photos CAN be colorful & fun!!
