Kehoe House Elopement I have another gorgeous Kehoe House elopement to share with you! Laurel and Milton traveled from Nashville to be married at the Kehoe House in beautiful Historic Savannah . It was a lovely day for a ceremony on the veranda with a few of the couple's close friends and family. Afterwards, we enjoyed a scenic horse and carriage ride to nearby Madison Square for a few more sweet photos of the Newlyweds before they were off to dinner at The Olde Pink House. Congratulations to Laurel and Milton! Are you recently engaged and looking for a Savannah or Tybee wedding or elopement photographer? Destination Savannah Proposals | Savannah Engagement Photographer | Diane Dodd Photography

Destination Savannah Proposals I wanted to share a few images from this past year of destination Savannah proposals. It has been a busy year for capturing romantic proposals in Savannah! I absolutely love being a part of surprise proposals and am honored when I am contacted in advance to schedule a surprise proposal session. A romantic carriage ride ending in Forsyth Park or in one of our beautiful squares is always a great choice! Check out Madison Tour Company to book your carriage! Are you planning a surprise proposal aor looking for a Savannah or Tybee wedding or elopement photographer? Please check out my recent Engagement Sessions or Elopements/Weddings, and if you like my style I would love to hear from you! Call 912-414-0824 or send an EMAIL to schedule a session or just chat!   John and Lauren were recently engaged in Historic Forsyth Park. They took a romantic stroll through the Savannah Squares and ended at the fountain in Forsyth Park where John asked Lauren for her hand in marriage! They were absolutely adorable and she was totally surprised. forsyth-engagement-fb-1-2   Spike took Lindsay on a historic carriage tour that ended in Columbia Square. They walked up to the fountain and he dropped to one knee and popped the question. Lindsay was completely caught off guard and her reaction was super cute! Afterwards we wandered around the area for more photos. spike-lindsay   Matt spent most of the day making sure everything was just right and that the ring was perfectly hidden on a sunflower before he proposed to Ashlynn on his family farm. It was such a pretty spot for a proposal! Definitely one of my favorites. metter-proposal   Kyle had told both families that he was going to propose to Emily on the lovely grounds of Bethesda Academy. Members from both families were actually hiding behind a building watching the entire thing. Emily was so shocked after she said " I Do" to see all of the family make themselves known. So great! bethesda-proposal-1   Alex proposed to Sarah on the dock of her parent's home in Dutch Island. She was the only one who had no idea what had been planned! She was completely shocked! Meanwhile, many of their family and friends were hidden in the house watching the whole thing. It was fantastic! dutch-island-engagement-2   Tim and April were guests at the amazing Kehoe House whose staff helped Tim plan the perfect proposal! They arranged for a carriage tour with Madison Tour Company that would take them around the city and then dropping them back at Columbia Square. Tim dropped on one knee after making a wish in the fountain and asked April to marry him. She was completely surprised! Afterwards we walked around the squares for some more photos. savannah proposal engagement   Another lovely proposal in front of the famous Forsyth Park Fountain. Arjun chose to propose the week of St. Patrick's Day, which in Savannah is quite the celebration- so much that the fountain had been dyed green making for some fun pics! I love the black and white of Tess as the realization of the proposal starts to sink in! arjun-and-tess-savannah-proposal   Charles and Cherie were engaged in January on the coldest day of the year. It was so cold that day that parts of the fountain had actually frozen into icicles! Despite the chill in the air the proposal went off without a hitch and was just beautiful. You can see some cool photos of the frozen fountain HERE. winter-proposal-1   Another sweet winter proposal was Sydney and Andrew. The path we had planned for Andrew to walk on to the fountain had been roped off for a wedding, luckily I had time to maneuver over to the other side of the fountain without being noticed at all. PHEW! It all worked out and they were absolutely adorable. You can see more of their photos HERE: forsyth-proposal-5

Dresser Palmer House | Savannah Elopement | Spring Ceremony

The Dresser Palmer House Savannah Elopement Carolyn and Mike traveled from South Carolina to be married at the beautiful Dresser Palmer House in Historic Savannah. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day or location! Carolyn carried Mike's ring in a tiny blue bird that was actually a gift he had given her on their first date. She kept it hidden from him until the vows and I thought that was such a sweet sentiment! Best wishes to Carolyn and Mike on their new journey together as husband and wife! Lafayette Square Elopement | Destination Savannah | Marian & David

Lafayette Square Elopement with a twist! David and Marian traveled from Florida to be married by Rev. Joe Wadas in Savannah's Historic Lafayette Square. As it turned out, a Japanese TV production company, TopSpin Creative, was in town filming for a one-hour weekly travel documentary series, "The World Travel on Foot" for NHK, the largest public broadcaster in Japan.  For the documentary, the camera walks through the streets to find people doing interesting things, and has a brief conversation with them about the city and their lives.  They were filming a segment on Savannah, and David and Marian's elopement was part of the feature that aired in July on NHK! That was definitely a first for me and we had such fun participating in the show. Marian told me later, "I still think about our little ceremony every day and how perfect it was." You can view the documentary HERE (our footage appears at 27min, so you can forward to that part. And of course it is all in Japanese, so I hope they are saying nice things about us lol)  Congratulations to Marian & David! lafayette-square-elopement-36.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-6.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-11.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-1.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-3.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-25.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-13.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-17.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-20.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-27.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-26.jpg lafayette-square-elopement-35.jpg Are you recently engaged and looking for a Savannah or Tybee wedding photographer? Olde Pink House Wedding | Destination Savannah | Maria & Jay

I have a gorgeous Olde Pink House wedding to share with you today! Maria and Jay traveled all the way from New York to be married in Historic Downtown Savannah. It is obvious that they were meant to be together and I was honored to be a part of their special day.

Maria writes, "It's funny how life has a way of coming full circle. When I had my first date with Jay, neither one of us was interested in another date. I'd met him around 2007 while I was working part-time as a personal assistant for a Broadway director. Jay's a classical musician, and I was in charge of getting the band where it needed to go. We'd hit it off instantly and I was hoping he would ask me out -- when he finally did, I was elated -- but it totally bombed.

Fast forward to 2012, Jay's flipping through the newspaper and finds an article about a book I'd just written. He sent a text message to congratulate me and asked me out on a belated second date. We've been together ever since! We married at the Olde Pink House exactly three years from that second date.
Since we live in New York City and Jay grew up in Alaska, and I grew up moving around, we decided a cozy, destination wedding, made the most sense and would allow us more time with our guests. Our families had to fly anyway, so we chose Savannah -- we'd always wanted to go and it was much more economical than Manhattan. We planned the entire weekend sight-unseen so we could stay a few extra days and explore the city for our honeymoon. We loved ALL our vendors! It was a mix of a lot of research and a pinch of luck… the result was pure joy!"

Oglethorpe Square Elopement | Destination Savannah | Jamie & Terrance

Jamie and Terrance traveled to Savannah and chose Oglethorpe Square as the gorgeous setting for their elopement. It was a lovely summer day for the exchanging of vows between the beautiful couple and a few close friends and family. I arrived a little early in order to capture the "first look" between the bride and groom before the ceremony. As you can see in the first pictures below, Terrance was overcome with emotion when he saw his bride for the first time! The ceremony was short and sweet, and afterwards we ventured around the square for a few more photo opps with the Newlyweds. It was a perfect day! Congratulations to Jamie and Terrance! Forsyth Park Wedding | Savannah Weddings | Tara & Lonnie

Tara + Lonnie's picturesque summer Savannah destination wedding in Forsyth Park! Their Story: "We actually met through an online dating service. I saw Lonnie's picture, and thought he was cute, so I sent him a message, and the rest is history. We chose Savannah because I lived in the area for a few years and knew how beautiful it was. I saw a wedding in Forsyth Park one day, and since then it has been my dream to get married in front of the fountain. We wanted a fun no fuss wedding in a beautiful place, so I talked Lonnie, and all of our family members into making it one big vacation with a wedding thrown in."   Wedding Planner:  Everlasting Occasions Hair and Makeup:  Savannah Makeup Professionals Flowers:  Kato Floral Designs Cake: Delectable Designs Horse & Carriage: Madison Tour Company Violinist: Weddings With Strings Attached Pedicab: Savannah Pedicab Wedding Gown: Vera Wang Flower Girl Dess & Shoes: Melissa Jane Boutique   Are you recently engaged and looking for a Savannah or Tybee wedding photographer? Tybee Island Destination Elopement | Tybee Weddings | Emily + Justin

Emily + Justin's Tybee Island Destination Wedding was so perfect and sweet. they traveled all the way from Minnesota to have their wedding on Tybee. Local officiant Bill Gillespie performed the ceremony in front of the couples family and close friends. There was definitely a lot of love flowing that day. Congratulations to Emily + Justin!! The Story: "We met when I delivered him a pizza in MN. We both have family in GA and I spent many summers going to Tybee. After we fell in love I had to take him and his family to Tybee. They too fell in love with this amazing island. Since we have family close by and this place is our little piece of heaven, Justin suggested it as our place to exchange vows. I agreed instantly". Forsyth Park Elopement| Savannah Weddings | Lauren + Doug

Lauren and Doug traveled to Savannah for their intimate elopement in front of the Forsyth Park fountain on a beautiful Spring evening! After the ceremony we strolled around the park to capture their first moments as husband and wife. Next, we wandered down Bull Street towards Monterey Square so we could soak in all of the beauty that surrounds Historic Savannah. We finished just in time for the Newlyweds to depart into the sunset on their horse drawn carriage....... Officiant: Rev. Schulte Violinist: Chris Dooley Horse Drawn Carriage: Madison Tour Company Flowers: Garden on the Square Lauren & Doug's story:
"We met online on Match.com while he was at the Police Academy in Kentucky.  I was living about 30 miles away and we decided to finally go on a date after emailing back and forth for a while.  We had a great first date and it just progressed from there I guess lol.  He eventually moved back to the Cincinnati area and I moved there about a year later.  A year and a half later he proposed to me in our brand new house we had just moved into 2 days earlier.  We both wanted a small wedding with only a few people present and we wanted to both go somewhere we haven't been before.  We settled on Savannah because I have heard nothing but good things and have always wanted to go.  Savannah has something for both of us; I love places with a lot of history and he loves any place with delicious food. Savannah worked out perfectly for us and I am so glad we chose the place we did for our big day".
