Forsyth Park Wedding | Savannah Weddings | Tara & Lonnie

Tara + Lonnie's picturesque summer Savannah destination wedding in Forsyth Park! Their Story: "We actually met through an online dating service. I saw Lonnie's picture, and thought he was cute, so I sent him a message, and the rest is history. We chose Savannah because I lived in the area for a few years and knew how beautiful it was. I saw a wedding in Forsyth Park one day, and since then it has been my dream to get married in front of the fountain. We wanted a fun no fuss wedding in a beautiful place, so I talked Lonnie, and all of our family members into making it one big vacation with a wedding thrown in."   Wedding Planner:  Everlasting Occasions Hair and Makeup:  Savannah Makeup Professionals Flowers:  Kato Floral Designs Cake: Delectable Designs Horse & Carriage: Madison Tour Company Violinist: Weddings With Strings Attached Pedicab: Savannah Pedicab Wedding Gown: Vera Wang Flower Girl Dess & Shoes: Melissa Jane Boutique   Are you recently engaged and looking for a Savannah or Tybee wedding photographer? Tybee Island Destination Elopement | Tybee Weddings | Emily + Justin

Emily + Justin's Tybee Island Destination Wedding was so perfect and sweet. they traveled all the way from Minnesota to have their wedding on Tybee. Local officiant Bill Gillespie performed the ceremony in front of the couples family and close friends. There was definitely a lot of love flowing that day. Congratulations to Emily + Justin!! The Story: "We met when I delivered him a pizza in MN. We both have family in GA and I spent many summers going to Tybee. After we fell in love I had to take him and his family to Tybee. They too fell in love with this amazing island. Since we have family close by and this place is our little piece of heaven, Justin suggested it as our place to exchange vows. I agreed instantly". Forsyth Park Elopement| Savannah Weddings | Lauren + Doug

Lauren and Doug traveled to Savannah for their intimate elopement in front of the Forsyth Park fountain on a beautiful Spring evening! After the ceremony we strolled around the park to capture their first moments as husband and wife. Next, we wandered down Bull Street towards Monterey Square so we could soak in all of the beauty that surrounds Historic Savannah. We finished just in time for the Newlyweds to depart into the sunset on their horse drawn carriage....... Officiant: Rev. Schulte Violinist: Chris Dooley Horse Drawn Carriage: Madison Tour Company Flowers: Garden on the Square Lauren & Doug's story:
"We met online on Match.com while he was at the Police Academy in Kentucky.  I was living about 30 miles away and we decided to finally go on a date after emailing back and forth for a while.  We had a great first date and it just progressed from there I guess lol.  He eventually moved back to the Cincinnati area and I moved there about a year later.  A year and a half later he proposed to me in our brand new house we had just moved into 2 days earlier.  We both wanted a small wedding with only a few people present and we wanted to both go somewhere we haven't been before.  We settled on Savannah because I have heard nothing but good things and have always wanted to go.  Savannah has something for both of us; I love places with a lot of history and he loves any place with delicious food. Savannah worked out perfectly for us and I am so glad we chose the place we did for our big day".

Savannah Station | Weddings For Warriors 2015 | Wesley Monumental

This was the third year to volunteer my photography services for the amazing Weddings For Warriors annual event, which is a full day of free individual ceremonies (two weddings and 15 vow renewals in January 2015) for active military men and women that takes place in the American tradition of gratitude and giving back. Dozens of local Savannah wedding vendors come together for this special day. This year my beautiful couple was Thomas & Shon who are stationed at Ft. Stewart, Ga. I met Shon at the American Legion Post #135 in the ballroom to capture some photos of her getting ready for her vow-renewal ceremony. The actual ceremony was performed at the Wesley Monumental Methodist Church in Historic Calhoun Square. The reception for all of the couples was held at the fabulous Savannah Station. Tybee Island Beach Wedding | Tonya + Philip

A few favorites of mine from Tonya & Philip's oceanside wedding on Tybee Island. Philip is a firefighter in Atlanta, so it was only fitting to have the Tybee Island Fire Department escort him to the wedding! Their beautiful ceremony was officiated by  Reverend Steve Schulte, and check out that bagpiper that played as Tonya and her father walked down the 'aisle'- so great! If you missed their super cool engagement session at Bonaventure Cemetery you can view the photos HERE. Mackey House Wedding | Savannah, GA | {Jamie & Kent}

Jamie & Kent were married at The Mackey House, one of Savannah's many beautiful historical venues. Jamie's gorgeous flowers were provided by Kato Floral Designs, and her amazing cakes by Delectable Designs. The groom's cake was perfect for any hunting enthusiast and totally cracked me up! The delicious food came from Creative Catering, bar catering was by Johnnie Ganem's and Glen Kearney did the vocals for their wedding songs.

I asked Jamie to tell me the story of how they met, and as you read below, it goes to show that sometimes stalking can work out for the best and result in a beautiful life together {grin}. "Kent had been out of the Navy & decided that he wanted to go to GSU to study electrical engineering. He moved in with his best friend Zach (best man), & had been studying at Ga Southern for a year by the time I met him. The first time Kent saw me I was in a bikini competition at Buffalo's in Statesboro, and he was hanging out with his rugby team for drinks after practice as they do every Thursday. I knew the rugby team well so we were all friends & they supported me in the contest, which I won 1st place lol. The 1st one I had ever won. Kent was new to rugby so I didn't know he existed yet. The team had a party that night afterwards which I attended & Kent & Zach were there also. Kent pointed me out to Zach & told him that I was his project for the next 6 months, so he actually stalked me for the next few months & I had no clue he existed! He added me on Facebook and found out where I worked (I was bartending at the Olive Garden then) & then deleted me. Kent started coming to my job & figured out my schedule. Then one day he sat at the bar when I was working & things went on from there. Apparently he had a huge crush on me & was too shy to talk to me unless he had a beer to boost his confidence, which my being a bartender & giving him free beer because he was cute really helped him out. When I started meeting his friends & family they all already knew about me! He had talked me up for the entire 4 or 5 months he had stalked me to everyone he knew." Congratulations to Jamie & Kent!! 2013-05-08_0007.jpg 2013-05-08_0009.jpg 2013-05-08_0008.jpg 2013-05-08_0010.jpg 2013-05-08_0011.jpg 2013-05-08_0012.jpg 2013-05-08_0013.jpg 2013-05-08_0014.jpg 2013-05-08_0015.jpg 2013-05-08_0016.jpg 2013-05-08_0017.jpg 2013-05-08_0018.jpg 2013-05-08_0019.jpg 2013-05-08_0020.jpg 2013-05-08_0021.jpg 2013-05-08_0023.jpg

St. Simons Lighthouse Wedding {Laura + Logan} Diane Dodd Photography

Congratulations to Laura + Logan!! It was such a beautiful and FUN destination wedding at the St. Simons Lighthouse! "For our day, we wanted an opportunity for our guests to be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and join us to celebrate. We absolutely loved St. Simons because it was pretty close to Atlanta, and the lighthouse was on the water but not on the beach (I didn't want to deal with the sand!). We also loved the historic feel to the lighthouse and how everything was so close together. I envisioned gray and yellow from the beginning as our colors, and liked how everything turned out. My good friend designed our invitations & signage and she did a great job incorporating the theme of the lighthouse/nautical, yet kept a little formality that we desired. We were incredibly happy with how everything turned out!!" Savannah Spring Wedding in Historic Wright Square {Heather + Joshua}

What a beautiful spring wedding in Savannah's Historic Wright Square! Not only was I thrilled to photograph such a stunning bride (that dress!) in one of my favorite Savannah squares, but I was over the moon to see a vintage Super 8mm FILM video camera used by Chris Dekmar. Just the faint click click click sound of that camera brought back so many wonderful childhood memories for me.....unicorn and rainbow and Brady Bunch kinda feelings.
