Forsyth Park Elopement| Savannah Weddings | Lauren + Doug

Lauren and Doug traveled to Savannah for their intimate elopement in front of the Forsyth Park fountain on a beautiful Spring evening! After the ceremony we strolled around the park to capture their first moments as husband and wife. Next, we wandered down Bull Street towards Monterey Square so we could soak in all of the beauty that surrounds Historic Savannah. We finished just in time for the Newlyweds to depart into the sunset on their horse drawn carriage…….

Lauren & Doug’s story:

“We met online on Match.com while he was at the Police Academy in Kentucky.  I was living about 30 miles away and we decided to finally go on a date after emailing back and forth for a while.  We had a great first date and it just progressed from there I guess lol.  He eventually moved back to the Cincinnati area and I moved there about a year later.  A year and a half later he proposed to me in our brand new house we had just moved into 2 days earlier.  We both wanted a small wedding with only a few people present and we wanted to both go somewhere we haven’t been before.  We settled on Savannah because I have heard nothing but good things and have always wanted to go.  Savannah has something for both of us; I love places with a lot of history and he loves any place with delicious food. Savannah worked out perfectly for us and I am so glad we chose the place we did for our big day”.

Gingerbread House Wedding Styled Shoot

The Gingerbread House is a gorgeous wedding venue that has recently re-opened it’s doors to elopements and weddings! I participated in a styled shoot so that the Gingerbread House would have some photos for their new website and promotional materials. A lot of wedding vendors came out and offered their time and talent for this super fabulous “faux” wedding!

Old Sheldon Church Ruins | Beaufort Elopement

The Old Sheldon Church Ruins are a hidden gem located in Beaufort, SC. This historic church was built between 1745 and 1753 and was originally known as Prince William’s Parish Church. The gorgeous surroundings include majestic oaks and many old gravestones. I was honored to be a part of this adorable couple’s big day, which was shared with their handsome pooches wedding party. I think the ruins were a fantastic choice for an intimate ceremony!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Brown and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your most special day!

Kehoe House Destination Elopement | Savannah Wedding Photographer {Diane Dodd}

Rob & Stacy were recently married at the gorgeous Kehoe House! The Kehoe House is an exquisitely restored 1892 Renaissance Revival mansion in the Savannah historic district. After the ceremony they enjoyed a lovely carriage ride around the city from Historic Savannah Carriage Tours.

Rob and Stacy met on Eharmony almost 5 years ago and chose to be married in Savannah because they have always loved to visit and have been coming here for the last several years for weekend getaways. Stacy says, “it does hold a special place in our hearts. We just love the quaintness, the history and stories behind each square and building. It feels like our home away from home and we hope to be able to come back for years to come.”

Congratulations to Rob & Stacy and their little cutie patootie Tessa!!

Fragrant Gardens Wedding {Matt & Kim} Savannah, GA

Location: The Fragrant Gardens in Forsyth Park

Officiant/Planner:

Violinist:

Congratulations to Kim & Matt!!

“Matt and I began talking on line about a year and a half ago. We found that we had a great deal in common even though he is 8 years younger than me. Soon after we began dating we redid a kitchen together working nights and weekends. That is where he proposed to me….in the middle of the kitchen we worked so hard on last September. I had no clue he was going to propose nor that he had picked out the perfect ring. Our families are scattered so we originally thought about Vegas but decided on Savannah so that more friends and family could attend. We found Reverend Schulte online and saw that he had great reviews. We contacted him and drove to Savannah in March to meet him and pick out the square and hotels. Matt and I had both been to Savannah at separate times but never together and loved the rich history and beauty of it.

We let him handle the details of everything but the reception. We chose the service (vows), music, and bouquet ribbon color and everything was perfect and handled down to the last detail by Steve. The Andaz did the reception which was fantastic as well. Ann at the Andaz was phenomenal to work with.

The hair style originated from a picture that Matt showed me several months ago. We both loved it so I decided that is what I wanted for the wedding. I debated about attempting to find someone in Savannah to do it but I knew there needed to be a trial run. I ended up asking my own hairdresser and friend to come down for the weekend to do it for me. Tracy practiced it from the picture the weekend before then she and her sister started working on it at 7:45 Saturday morning. My hair looked just like the picture and she did a great job.

The wedding truly was a fairy tale wedding and I couldn’t be happier with any of it. Thank you so much for capturing our special day.”
